Nationwide awareness campaign against Domestic Violence kicks off in Palestine
To empower vulnerable individuals with accurate information about their rights and increase public awareness, the Palestinian Civil Police (PCP) has launched a wide-reaching awareness campaign addressing domestic violence.
Led by the PCP’s Family and Juvenile Protection Department (FJPD) and supported by EUPOL COPPS, the one-month long campaign, which runs till end of July, focuses on educating vulnerable groups about online safety and informing them of available support mechanisms—particularly the 106 police hotline, a key service for victims seeking help.
It spans across all districts of the West Bank. EUPOL COPPS advisers have contributed to the initiative through various forms of support, including by providing promotional material, handed over on 10 July in Ramallah.
To maximize outreach, the PCP has installed large billboards at strategic locations to publicise the hotline. The campaign also includes participation in national radio and TV programmes, where police representatives will provide practical information and raise awareness about domestic violence and victim protection.
A series of targeted radio clips will be broadcast across national stations, highlighting crucial issues such as domestic violence, cybercrimes against women and children, and available protective services.
