Head of Mission

Felix Andåker, from Sweden, has been appointed as the Head of the European Union Police Mission for the Palestinian Territories (EUPOL COPPS) as of 1 July 2026. He is succeeding Karin Limdal taking up duties from 1 July 2026.
Mr. Andåker has broad experience from different areas and various strategic management positions within the Swedish National Police, a service he joined in 1995, and the Swedish Security Service.
Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Andåker upheld positions as Head of Operations in Stockholm City Police district and acted as Head of the Regional Special Investigations Division.
Mr. Andåker is a very experienced national Gold Commander, managing sensitive large scale special police operations in Stockholm and elsewhere in Sweden. He has previously also served as Gold Commander at national level in the Swedish Security Service.
Mr. Andåker has served internationally in the Swedish Armed Forces in the Balkans in the late 1990s and in EUPOL Afghanistan, as Deputy Head of Field Office, in Mazar-e-Shariff, 2012-2013. Prior to his appointment as EUPOL COPPS Head of Mission, he served as the Chief Constable of the police in the City of Stockholm, Sweden.
Mr. Andåker is married and has three children.
