Assisting implementation of international treaties in Palestine

The implementation of international treaties into national legislation expresses the will of a state to integrate and comply with international standards.

Recently the Mission conducted a workshop for members of the Palestinian Harmonization Committee revolving around the methodology for implementing international treaties into national legislation. The workshop also touched upon the division of roles and responsibilities between the different Palestinian institutions before, during and after the implementation.

The training was conducted by the Mission’s Legislative Drafting Expert Anne-Marie Baldovin, who also reflected on the Belgium experience in harmonizing legislation.
