New equipment will enhance police skills and knowledge

The Department of the Special Police Forces, which forms part of the Palestinian Civil Police, has recently established a training centre in the city of Nablus. Today, representatives from EUPOL COPPS handed over equipment, which will improve the training capabilities of the new centre.

As part of the Mission’s contribution to the development of the Palestinian Civil Police, EUPOL COPPS is equipping two class rooms in the new training centre with Smart Televisions, Projectors and Air-conditioning systems.

The equipment will enable a more diverse delivery of theoretical training and improve the indoor working conditions. To support practical training and enhance the tactical training capacity, EUPOL COPPS is also equipping the training centre with 10 body cameras. “We are supporting the organizational development of the Special Police Forces by improving its operational capacity through enhanced training efficiency.

Ultimately the equipment we have donated today will facilitate more efficient learning of new skills and knowledge”, said the Mission’s Senior Police Adviser to the Department of the Special Police Forces, Carlos Pereira at the hand-over ceremony.
