Chief of the Palestinian Police welcomed by the Head of Mission

The Head of EUPOL COPPS, Kauko Aaltomaa and key members of the Mission’s Senior Management has conducted a successful two-hour consultation with the Chief of Palestinian Civil Police (PCP), Major General Hazem Attallah and six of his senior officials.

The consultation took place on 6 February 2019 at the Mission’s Headquarters in Ramallah to discuss the many ongoing projects and possibilities deriving from the close cooperation between the Mission and one of its important counterparts.

During the meeting, he PCP participants were given an update on the Mission’s activities, highlighting especially on Rule of Law issues. The briefing was followed by a discussion on the progress and achievements made as a result of the joint efforts of the Mission and the various departments of the PCP.
The occasion served as a welcomed opportunity for the Mission to pay tribute to the cooperation, dedication and comradeship of PCP counterparts in the Police Headquarters and in the Police Districts.

Major General Hazem Attallah insisted on the importance of keeping a tight cooperation, considering the current circumstances and in order to maintain security. Consequently, the meeting also included a fruitful discussion on the way forward as to the cooperation between the PCP and the Mission during the coming mandate, expected to commence on 1 July 2019.
