The Mission kick starts its work with the Council of Ministers Gender Unit

The Gender Unit of the Council of Ministers and the newly established Gender Focal Point network have completed a base level gender training, provided by the Mission’s Gender Adviser.

The participants represented several services of the Council Of Ministers including the Training, Financial, Media and Accountability Departments, and the Prime Minister's Office.

The purpose of the training was to establish a common conceptual framework among the newly appointed Gender Focal Points, enabling the development of concrete gender mainstreaming initiatives. The training was the first of a series of capacity-building and advisory activities, which the Mission will provide to the Gender Unit.

The Council Of Ministers, as the highest political body in Palestine, deals with all issues that concern the Palestinian population. By establishing and strengthening the Gender Unit and their Gender Focal Point network, the aim is to ensure the services provided uphold the highest standards of human rights and promote equality for women and men alike.
