A global professional firm holds a training course on risk-based inspection for the Palestinian Civil Police

Ernst & Young (Palestine office) delivered a capacity-building course organized by EUPOL COPPS to train Palestinian Civil Police (PCP) officer in ‘risk-based inspections’ methodology.

The 8-day training which concluded on 18 May, focused on financial inspections, internal audits, procurement control and prevention of fraud. The training targeted two senior-staff groups working in the PCP’s Inspector General’s Office (IGO).

This event  is part of a concerted and continuous efforts by EUPOL COPPS to strengthen the knowledge and performance of a number of accountability and oversight bodies within the police, including the IGO.

Brigadier General Adel Hilles and the PCP participants reported positive feedback on the course and stated that they look forward to the next components of support, namely ‘on-the-job’ training from EUPOL COPPS’ advisers and the development of a manual with standard operating procedures.
