From 20 to 24 March, EUPOL COPPS organized a study trip to Finland and Estonia for three Palestinian police officers to learn how cybercrime units were functioning in both countries.
In Finland, the Head of the Cyber Crime Unit of Palestinian Civil Police along with the two other officers had an opportunity to learn from the Finnish National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Cyber Crime Center. They saw how criminal cases -- digital evidence and forensic processes -- are investigated in the Cybercrime Centre.
The Finnish counterparts briefed the Palestinian delegation about their Cyber Intelligence Unit, Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Telecommunications Unit and the challenges they face.
In Estonia, the participants were given a presentation about the Estonian National Criminal Police and its Cyber Crime Unit. They also visited the National Forensic institute and CERT team of Estonia. Also The Palestinian police officers plan to further develop, thanks to this study visit, the know-how they have acquired in their daily work.
