Rodolphe Mauget (France) was appointed as Head of EUPOL COPPS Mission on 17 February 2015 on the proposition of the HR/ VR, Mrs. Federica Mogherini.
Since the departure of the former Head of Mission Kenneth Deane appointed as Civilian Operations Commander, Mauget was assigned as acting Head of Mission on 01 July 2014. He was previously positioned to this very same mission as Deputy Head of Mission from September 2013 and as Head of Police Advisory Section from September 2012, which gave him a sound knowledge of the EUPOL COPPS mission and of the regional political and security situations after nearly ten years of service on the middle east peace process file from both theater and headquarter perspectives.
M. Mauget started his international career fourteen years ago with O.S.C.E, under UN.M.I.K umbrella in Kosovo and then moved to O.S.C.E. spillover mission to F.Y.R.O.M. He joined in November 2005 EUPOL COPPS planning team as Specialist Police Advisor. He did then draft the audit of Palestinian Civil Police public order capacity in Gaza and West Bank in 2006 before ensuring the structuring and re-training of all PCP Special Police Forces in West Bank from September 2007 till August 2008.
From 2009 to 2012, Mauget was assigned as Police Expert to the European External Action Service (EEAS), Civilian Planning and Conduct Capability, Conduct of Operations Unit. He conducted CSDP Mission reviews in EUPOL RD Congo, EUPOL Afghanistan and in both EUPOL COPPS and EUBAM Rafah. Rodolphe Mauget was also part of a CSDP Mission management review in June 2010, which further enhance his CSDP horizontal crisis management perspective and knowledge.
From a French National Police background, as senior commissioned officer, Rodolphe Mauget served in various French National Police active directorates and services such as the Direction de la Surveillance du Territoire (counter intelligence), the Compagnies Républicaines de Sécurité C.R.S (both crowd control and highway patrol units skills), the Service de Sécurité du Ministère de l’Intérieur S.S.S.M.I (protection, safety and security of staff and buildings) and the Direction de la Coopération Internationale de Police D.C.I (international police cooperation directorate).
Rodolphe Mauget was born in 1971. He is graduated with a Diplôme d’Etudes Universitaires Générales / General University Degree of Geography and of English at the Maine University, France.
